Routes that are just s train journey away from London

Hey guys,

I have just moved to London from Surrey and no longer have a car. I amaobviously aware of and frequent the Surrey Hills, Swinley Forest, QECP but was wondering if their are any other places on the other sides of London maybe which are easy to get to on the train and have good riding.

I live in Balham so Clapham Junction is easy to get too.

Plus anyone in the area fancy joining me any time?

    Woburn if you change at Milton Keynes, Wendover has some good trails (need a map), Chicksands if you go to Arlesey or Flitwick train stations
    Going east you may be able to get to Thetford Forest as well
