Santambrogio cleared for the Giro

So he's got a man for the mountains now and a couple of strongish guys for the flatter stages.
Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.

Except he's had zero racing, recently.
He can't possibly be match fit.

It is a worry but when do you really need a mountain guy? 3 weeks time.

He's got a good 10 days to find some form so the lack of racing shouldn't have a huge impact. One assumes he's been training hard knowing that the team were looking to clear him in time for the Giro.

Of the faves for the Giro, only Evans has shown any kind of form.

Franco has done nothing. Sastre the same. Basso was ok in Trentino, bit rubbish in Romandie but then he's probably in training mode and doing a few efforts otherwise sitting and doing not much.

Pellizotti was third in the GP Industria and Artigianato yesterday.

Well, shows how much I know then.

I see Sella managed to come 63rd.

It was hardly a class field was it? Hence the wink emoticon.

To be honest, I think any Giro contender can get away with turning up a bit short as they've time to find some form before the real race begins.

Pffft. This is cycling, where if you beat a few second rate sprinters it means you've proved your critics wrong.

VDV is a guy who's coming into shape bang on time.
