I'm flying with KLM who will take a bike for free if it falls within the 20 kg luggage allowance. Just weighed my bike box and it's 14kilos. Bike is 10 kilos, do I pay the extra for the peace of mind with the beefy bike box or go for one of KLMs own brand bike boxes?

Just going for a few days so everything else can go in hand luggage.
