As the title suggests, am visiting Family in July and wonder if anyone could recommend a good bikeshop in or near Barrow.

Wheelbase in Kendal for both road & MTB. I seem to remember there's an MTB place in Ulverston too. But Barrow isn't really a place I go looking for anything! Great cycling in the vicinity though.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

    Barrow Rocks (ish):

    http://www.topmarkonline.com/ Topmark in Barrow

    http://gillcycles.co.uk/ Gill Cycles in Ulverston

+ as Monty Dog says Wheelbase Superstore in Staveley (just outside Kendal), this is about 45 mins by car from Barrow.

Thanks guys for the info will try and visit all three when i go.Actually the main reason i am asking is that my Brother-in law wants to do a triathlon and is looking to buy a bike via the CTW scheme. However he must purchase a bike from a company or shop nearby, he works in Ulverston so gillcycles sounds ideal. I,ve already mentioned Ribble cycles and one or two others but they are to far away for his employers liking. thanks again anyway

+1 for ghyll cycles in Ulverston. Proper old fashioned LBS and highly rated by the locals.

Wheelbase is a large concern and great if you want to buy a bike/bits, but in my experience not too hot on customer service and I wouldn't trust the guys in the workshop to fit a tea cosy on a tea pot after the mess they made of fixing a rack to my wifes new bike (bought from them).
They do have lots of nice stuff to look at though.

There's also Askews, Brucies bike shop and Evans in Kendal the first two are typical LBS type places.
