SLX front derailleur for the double chainset

hi all,

I am running a SLX double chainset, notice that the have a specific derailleur for that, not sure how useful it is.
I know I dont really need it, as the traditional triple mec works too. just wonder how different it would be with / without it.

    no different. but problems can happen when using the double on a triple crankset.

    i was assuming no difference in the first place, then I question why would shimano manufacture a specific double derailluer as everyone could have used the 'normal' one...
