Groupsets and wheels..

What would you go for? Campag Centaur 10 speed with carbon Campag Centaur chainset and Campag Khamsin wheels, or Shimano Ultegra 10 speed with Shimano RS10 wheels?

The Campag looks lighter, and it works out to be about £15 cheaper, but is it that obvious?

I've always used Shimano on the mountain bike and my road bike, so am I just being silly?

Try both and then pick the one whose shifting methods and shifters you prefer. Both are very good groupsets.

To be honest I've used lots of different shifters, and even when they've been euro style shifting (wrong way round..) I've always got used to it fairly quickly. I'm much more interested in reliability, weight, and performance.

Not speccable with the bike I'm interested in.

Campag wears in whilst Shimano wears out - simples

I added a Road bike to my ranks last year and I have Campag. The way the shifters work seemed a more natural transition from shimano MTB. You click a button and push a lever unlike shimano which both require a push.

That's my opinion. Build and feel of campag is better. I have Veloce and it has a better feel than Ultegra to me.

May be worth spending more on wheels than on the group though. Wheels seem to make a bigger difference (and tyres obviously). Although Centaur has shiny carbon unlike the lower end.
