Good or bad?

Am looking to spend around £1.5k on a new road bike, and the Ultegra equipped Gran Fondo and Sportive Racing look extremely tempting. Especially as you can get SuperLeggeraXL50 wheels XL50. Carbon wheels look very nice, but are they worth the extra £320?

Also, I understand the Gran Fondo is meant for climbing, and the Sportive Racing I would hazard a guess is for sportives and racing, but what is the real world difference?

All good - Ribble, Sportive & Gran Fondo
    - there was a long thread on the Sportive & Gran Fondo - not a lot between the two.

Just down to looks then? If so, I think its the Sportive Racing all the way.. although the Gran Fondo does have the better name.

I think the wheels are pretty heavy...

I've been looking at either a Focus Cayo or a Ribble Sportive Racing but I'd probably go for the Fulcrum Racing 7 wheels because i would think that the XL50's may be a bit of a handfull in the wind. They do look the part tho ;-).
Ribble and Focus bikes look to me light a bargain compared like for like with the mainsteam brands. Always get good reviews anyway.
