Fox Fork Play

Just picked up my Cube Reaction RX - one thing I don't like much is "play" in the first movement of the Fox 32 F100 forks even when locked out. Is there some way of eliminating this? Adding pre-load? It feels like something is loose at the front end and a bit disconcerting.

The forks move under lock out to protect the internals.

More preload will not affect it.

What do you mean by play in the initial stroke?

Yup - both in lock-out and free - there seems to be 5mm-ish of free-ish movement in the stroke which I don't have in my (10 year old) Marzocchi forks on my Kona.
