Cool! What a good idea! Do you get to park your bike on the windowsill? I might have to clean mine...0

LOL I was thinking similar lines....0 -
got one in oxford already! Run by flavio zappi! Has a lovely little cycling club and members tend to leave their bikes out the front because they can easily keep an eye on them.
The only cafe where people don't look at you like a loon if you walk in wearing red vernice sidi's, they also sell zipvit energy drinks!0 -
Better than the shite that place used to beRule #5 // Harden The Feck Up.
Rule #9 // If you are out riding in bad weather, it means you are a badass. Period.
Rule #12 // The correct number of bikes to own is n+1.
Rule #42 // A bike race shall never be preceded with a swim and/or followed by a run.0 -

Actually, I sincerely doubt my bike is cool enough to be allowed to park in the window.0 -

Actually it's an easy walking distance from here. No biking required. I'll just change into my cleats a few doors down and noone'll be the wiser...0 -
I walked past this place the other day - I don't usually go down old street, just went out for lunch and was having a stroll in the sun.
I gazed up at this odd looking place with bikes balancing up against the window.
My first impression was that it was a second hand shop as the bikes looked rather tatty at first glance, then I read the cafe sign0 -
Will be in London in May and June with work. Tempted to take my bike anyway.
And I like to go for a few beers in this part of London (the strip pubs further along Old STreet in Shoreditch are great!).0 -
What a great idea. I can see that place being really popular. Might have to pop in next time I am forced to visit the big smokey0

Ah, that's my tea sorted out on the way back to Liverpool Street!0

Every city should have one, I'm not one for eating out much but I would certainly support a similar shop in Manchester.
Not sure about the name though ..................
(cue the 'name the cycling cafe' game) :P

Visited yesterday lunchtime.
First impressions: Plent of bike parking, including the planters that double up as bike racks. I think they need more seating (particularly when it is hailing ) and a proper chalkboard with all the menu items on it (you have to guess or ask the price and content options for the baguettes, frittata and pastries; but asking slows down the whole queue, as does the resultant 'should I have this ... or that?' time resulting from this), but it is welcoming and pleasant. Outside will be nice in the brief summer (if it hasn't already been and gone). There appears to be computer access for the local set. Service a little slow (exacerbated by the above), but I'm sure that'll pick up with practice. Some cycling related books available to borrow if you are waiting for friends - as well as random bike porn strolling in sometimes.
House wines at £10 per bottle, decent sharing platters at £10 and £12 (had the latter - very nice). Excellent smoothies at £3.45 for about a pint (smaller option available)! Although I wouldn't bother with the milkshakes, personally. Coffees and Hot Chocolate at between £2 and £2.50 if I recall correctly.
No credit/debit cards at present (although apparently this facility is planned and should be in place soon), so cash only.
For those not on two wheels, it is conveniently placed right next to the Central Street bus stop on Old Street .0 -
Aha, I visited yesterday lunchtime as well – as the lock 7 cycle cafe was closed. Can't recall if it was before or after the hailstone shower though.
Lots of cycle parking – Sheffield stands, planters and those wall mounted round things that you can hang the bike off and lock.
The staff were friendly, though I thought the coffee and tea a bit pricey. I was also seriously out of place as not only did I have a hybrid, flat bars, gears and a free-wheel but I failed to wear the required plimsolls and skinny cardy! It certainly attracts a trendy crowd.
They don’t sell bikes but they do sell bits and pieces, including the rather fancy round wall mounted bike stands. They also do repairs. The Hackney Bicycle Film Society is also going to use it as the venue for their next film evening (10 May).Pain is only weakness leaving the body0 -

That probably says a lot about the target clientele.0
