Please tell me what the practical difference is between the the Reba Sl and the Race. Cheers. Steve

Can depend on year. Main difference is the external floodgate adjuster of the Race. Th SL uses an internal adjuster through the top cap, a 2.5mm allen key.

Looking at the 2010 on the merlin site. What does the floddgate thing do and am I likely to change it. Which would you recommend. The SL's are £30 cheaper.

but you tend to set it once and leave it. It isn't really something that you change on rides.

They say it's internal, but it isn't exactly a take-the-forks-to-bits-to-chang-it internal more just under a little cover. For me the choice is between the sl and the teams because of the better damping in the teams.

I have a pir of SLs.For the sake of lifting a cap off with your fingers and using an allen key rather than an external knob,to adjust the floodgate (force required to overcome lockout) I`d save the £30.
