VPP bearings

A quick question: if you remove the rear shock from a VPP bike (a Blur LT2 in my case - 11 mths old) should the rear triangle move completely smoothly up and down through its travel? I tried it for the first time the other day and was a bit surprised it felt quite notchy. It's not really bad but not buttery smooth either. I will take it to my LBS and SC have already said they will replace them FOC if the bearings are considered worn or faulty but just wondered if anyone has any experience of this.

Notchy isn't good. Sometimes they can be quite stiff due to the preload and grease in the bearings, but notchy I would have looked at.0

Thanks. Difficult to describe I know but as it's over an hour round trip to my LBS it's nice to have someone else's opinion. I think it's worth the trip.0
