Hi all,

Has anyone got a jacket with Castelli illuminite? It looks black normally but lights up silver under direct light. I've found one on ebay but I've never heard of it and there's nothing about it on the internet, can anyone recommend it? I'm worried all the coating would come off in the wash.

Here's the link http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Castelli-Illumini ... 0622424767

Thank in advance!

The reason why you can't find it is that it's about 10 years old! There was a fad for illuminite materials, which are microscopic glass beads woven into the fabric yarn - they'll withstand washing no problem, but they don't work as well a the reflectives you get on modern kit. The sizing and quality of Castelli gear at that time was pretty variable - make sure you buy at least a full size larger than you'd typically get as it's quite small.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
