Bloody Awful Journey to Work

Today's journey was unusually tedious:
Endlessly zig-zagging around potholes.
Trying to find space amongst the motorcycles in traffic light cycle bays.
Braking hard as scooters dive into cycle lanes without looking.
Avoiding pedestrians drifting into the road, seemingly despite seeing you approach.
Swerving as taxis pull out of T junctions.
Negotiating buses as they overtake you and then immediately pull left into their stop - why did they bother to overtake?
Trying to predict the lane-indiscipline of white van man.
Every traffic light turning red as I approached.
At least it wasn't raining!

I'd add to that having other cyclists pull out in front of you, watching them jump red lights endangering pedestrians crossing and not following accepted etiquette when they do stop at lights....
Seriously, out of all the illegal/dangerous stuff i saw on the road on my commute in today about 70% of it was done by cyclists.
No wonder we're hated.http://www.georgesfoundation.org

This should be the header on the forum homepage. Couldn't agree more.0 -
Arse! That'll teach me to be flipant. Hit every major junction as the lights turned red, watched two numpties cycle through anyway, decided I would have them once the lights turned green then promptly hit the same feckin' pair of potholes that took my chain off last week thus creating the exact same result. Sh*t journey!0
