I pleaded ignorance and said i though it was a bridleway to which I got "your not allowed to ride those along bridleways either" , anyway he said it was a footpath until the next road, so i had to walk a few miles.
Didn't anyone think the 'farmer' was just having a laugh? I reckon he was just saying it for a bit of fun, trying to get you to walk for miles then laughing as he drove off.
Good to be polite, anger only begets anger etc. no need making things worse and getting all worked up about it eh! Well represented amt27.Many happy trails!0 -
yoohoo999: Dafydd Davis got an MBE.
Think you'd be getting an ASBO...0 -
Scotland where I live is slighty different,we have the scottish Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003 ,which entitles us common folk on to most land with out any problems,if we are responsible.

Had an old duffer harass me once when me and my kids were cycling on the local towpath. Even though were cycling consideratley. Have to say i gave hime a mothful and rode off. Not very grown-up really  . Next time I'll be polite to him... AND I'll be in the right.Cool, retro and sometimes downright rude MTB and cycling themed T shirts. Just MTFU.

I never knew there was as such a thing as a waterways cycling permit, i`ve been asked for a fishing permit once but never a cycling one. Is there any point in getting one ?Smarter than the average bear.0

Only so you can shut miserable gits up who tell you "You cant cycle on here"
I had mine in my rucksack for ages till I was on the Llangollen canal near Chirk old git gave me a mouthfull shouting he was going to report me. I stopped rooted round in my bag and whipped out my permit. His jaw dropped and I rode off with a smile, a small victory but a satisfying one.Fig rolls: proof that god loves cyclists and that she wants us to do another lap0 -

Noticed a pick-up in front coming out of a field onto a track and caught it up, the person inside was busy looking around and didn't notice me behind, managed to get round the vehicle then got a beep beep and skid along side me, "your not allowed to ride that along here".
I pleaded ignorance and said i though it was a bridleway to which I got "your not allowed to ride those along bridleways either" , anyway he said it was a footpath until the next road, so i had to walk a few miles.
Waited for him to disappear and got back on.
Have done a bit of research and found out the track is neither a footpath or bridleway, its just a forest track and both of us were on Forestry Commission land.
So am I allowed to ride there? and if so should I have a moan to the FC?
just tell the miserable p***k to do one!0
