merlin cycles have sets of magura louise bats, elixer cr's and xtrs for around 200 quid atm, so might be worth checking them out

thanks im looking for some powerful am brakes as im quite a big lad so i need them to be powerful0

You could try to get a set of Hope M4's for that or an M4 on the front, X2 on the rear
That would be my choice. Lovely modulation and plenty of power0 -
I am 14 stone- using magura louise- no probs at all- and the price is more than good for this kind of braking0
-
i would like some hope brakes but there about 150 for just one end0
-
look at the 2nd hand stuff.
I got an M4 in mint condition for 60 quid including rotor off here a few months ago0 -
ok will do thanks0
-
I'd look at the Elixir CR - light for the money.
And you'd have a warranty.0 -
will do
whats your opinion on the xt brakes as these are my favorite at the momant0 -
The latest reviews have not been too good, but many do like them. I have not tried the latest models.0

thanks for that i might have to try a few out first0

'The XT's last year were not great, horrible modulation...the Hope's look nice but squeal like a pig in the wet..for the money Elixir's or the bat's...or even SLX
The Hayes range are ok however they tend to get grit in the adjusters..which can be a pain0 -
my money would be on the bats for £2000
