Hi all,

Has anyone used these?

Training hard, and looking for things to help with recovery, wearing the tights seems a simple option

(currently trying massage, soaking my legs in teh bath after long/hard rides etc)

Cheers

  • My GF swears by them - she a long distance/marathon/ultra runner, currently getting ready to run 10 marathons in 10 days around Lake Windermere. She runs 10 ies every morning except for days when she' running a marathon or longer, and usually after that she'll recover wearing compression leggings for a couple of days. Sometimes runs in them too.

I on the other hand don't get on with them at all - I quite like them to run in (they seem to stop muscles wobbling about, and I don't think I feel as fatigued afterwards), but I find them restrictive and much too hot on the bike; and when I've tried to wear them for recovery they give me really bad twitchy legs in the evening. I'l wear compression calf gurads occasionally, they seem ok.

    Sorry, not much help probably...

I use them after a ride when I want to ride again on the next day.

Using them after an ice / cold bath seems to work wonders.

I bought some Sugoi compression tights instead of the SKINS travel tights as I didn't like the footloops. The guy in the shop I spoke to said that the recovery tights were essentially the same as the ordinary compression tights and I decided on te Sugoi's due to the fact that they offered a better fit.

Do they work? Yes. I would say that I have noticed less muscle soreness and seem able to recover faster after wearing the tights after hard training sessions than previously. I wouldn't wear them during training as they are very thin an I reckon would wear quickly, but putting them on after training and wearing them through the night I would say has been beneficial.
