Lightweight lock recommendations

I’m looking for a lock that is lightweight so that I can carry it my bag for the rare occasions when I pop into a shop for 5 mins.
My bike is protected by a heavy duty Abus lock at work and locked in the house at night, the Abus is far to heavy to lug around on the off chance that I might stop (less than once a month), so I want something lighter.
My bike is sub £500, so it’s not like I’m protecting some £2K road bike.
Can anyone recommend anything.
Thanks

I use this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0429887002
It's very cheap + light and sturdy enough to make other bikes a better target.0 -
There are some great dinky d-locks out there... I have an Abus one that cost about £50, but I'm sure there are cheaper ones available.0

How about one of these: https://www.kryptonitelock.com/products ... 0&pid=1100

No, it won't stop anyone with tools but it does stop opertunists.None of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.0 -

That was the sort of thing I was thinking of, I have something similar for my snowboard... which I could use instead of a bike lock.I know the voices in my head aren't real, but they have such great ideas0 -

The penknife I carry in my handbag would be through that before you'd paid for your paper.
You could also use string, a nice double bow may stop any opportunists.....

Hmmm, I suppose you have a point there, maybe I need something a bit stronger.

Depends on how you look at it - if the alternative is leaving the bike unlocked or faffing around taking the chain off it might be worth it. I might get one - just for pub or shop stops on my weekend rides to stop people just riding off on my bike.Faster than a tent.......0
