    what a tw*t

The driver has obviously not discovered the mirrors that sit on the side of the car and their purpose.

Do you film all your bike trips up the road??

No, i dont film all my rides. i just recieved a new sd card for my camera and was testing if the quality would be better than my old card.

+1 seriously its not worth getting fired up about one driver because it will only ruin the ride.

To be honest CWNT, you'd probably have jumped onto the back of the car, smashed the window, crawled in over the parcel shelf and gone D lock happy on the old dear. I'm thinking along the lines of the scene with the fat guy in the jeep with the 'nice dinosaur' on Jurassic Park.

No excuse for that. You are on the driver's side of the car so its not like they would need to look hard to spot you.

    Next time D-lock them!

Or a driver who made an average mistake by accident and because your a bike it makes it ten times more dangerous? :p

Though how he doesn't apologise for it after makes him a bit of a nob

Driving without due care and attention then?

The fact he's not paying any attention whilst in charge of a peice of heavy machinery makes him a bit of a nob. I bet he didn't look in his mirrors once, so had no idea he'd done anything wrong.

the road curves to the left at that point with rows of traffic unless a cyclist is wearing something fairly visable it would actually be very easy to miss a cyclist in the drivers defence.

If you are 100% aware allt he time you drive well done Bails but you aren't no one is. What makes that driver a twat is he didn't realise his mistake and apologise.

I think we're always going to disagree over the responsibilities of drivers

I just think that with a proper check of mirrors, and an 'over-the-shoulder' check of the blind spots, thats done as an actual check, rather than just a cursory glance, the driver would have seen the bike. Although the road was less than ideal, and as a cyclist there I would have been right out away from the parked cars. (The OP may have been, but I can't remember and can't see the bid at the mo)

Uhm he was fairly close in and pegging it, So no visbilty on the cyclist there was awful.

Simply Cyclists are small and are sadly fairly easily missed by someone not paying 100% attention - ie tired or what ever. I'm not defending things as right but as a realistic world where no one is perfect.
