Better frame or groupset?

My friend has started racing this year and has decided to get a new bike to race on. His limit is about £1500.
He has been looking at the ribble sportive with anthea 11 or the scuros rs with centeur. I said he should go with the scuro as you could always upgrade the groupset at a later date and its better to get the best frame you can with the money. He already had a good set of racing wheels so he doesnt need to worry about them.

Rather to invest in a better frame, although I have no experience with either of the Ribble offerings. Biggest advantage of Athena is just the extra gear and better chain rings - not a big deal in performance terms.0

+1 for best frameKev
Summer Bike: Colnago C60
Winter Bike: Vitus Alios
MTB: 1997 GT Karakorum0 -
+ another 1 for the frame, as its much easier to upgrade bits, and the Scuros looks better IHMOAnd now you know, and knowing is half the battle

Go for the Nero RC, a fantastic frame, with some money left to spend on the groupset compared with the Scuro.0
