Touring in Borneo (title edited)

Hi,
I am currently living in Brunei and will return to the UK at the end of the year.
I am considering a ride form Kota Kinabalu to Kuching across Malaysian Borneo, which will be in the region of 1400km, in the first week in July. Training is fine (I think), and I am building up to 4 x consecutive 100 miles per day towards the end of June.
I have a Specialized Allez ('07 model) with Mavic Open Pros and running 105 Compact. I am looking for advice on which pannier rack and bags to fit on the rear of the bike, and which bar bag and 1-man tent to buy. It would be great if the bags and tent were able to withstand monsoon levels of rain...
Any other sound and reasonable advice on the ups and downs of long distance touring (and training for) would be gratefully received.
Thanks.

I toured Sabah in Feb a year or so ago and it was very hot then... July!
I just wonder why there's such a rush to do it in a short time-frame. I can't imagine it'll be enjoyable.
No doubt you'll buy the bike stuff online. I suggest a Tubus rear rack. I have the s/s model.
Most tourers go for Ortlieb paniers, which will keep out the rain.
Ortlieb also make a barbag, which is also waterproof. It's an uphill climb to the bottom0 -
Thanks guys.JM0
