I have an Allez Elite, and I think its a brilliant bike, but I guess any owner of any of those will probably say the same.

I think the Allez is fast, and even comfortable for a big guy like me, did 40miles on it yesterday in the rain, and it was faultless.

I have a Trek 2.1, which is a very nice bike and the geometry of the 1.2 is pretty similar i think :?
Also have a friend with a specialized secteur sport, he swears by it.

I recommend finding out where these bikes are stocked, and giving them a test ride. Its the best way to find out what suits you. They are all good bikes, any of them would be a good choice.

But, I.M.H.O I would go for the Secteur Sport, or the Trek.

I'd go for the trek or giant, personally I avoid specialised at all costs heard too many stories about their frames cracking and how poorly they are built in the factory.
The trek for the money is a good bike but I would recommend test riding and seeing what you prefer

I have the predecessor, the SCR2 and it's a brilliant bike. Can take mudguards as well, so you can use it all year round.

This makes really good reading regarding Bike factories, alot of different branded frames come from the same places.

I find that disappointing, won't be long now till most bikes are the same just different names on the frames
