I have a Raleigh Airlite as my winter trainer/ride to work and the tubing is 7005 DB aluminium. I am not a metallurgist but there are various grades of aluminium and they have different numbers reflecting their specification. In this case 7005 is basic stuff and the DB is double butted which means its thicker at the ends (where the welds are) for strength and thinner in the middle of the tube for light weight.0
