Hi Guys,

Unfortunately I had a huge stack this week, leaving both me and my bike a little beaten up. Replacing broken items & bones is usually pretty straight forward, but I'm stuck here, and I've searched hard for an answer with no joy. Anyway I have a pair of fsa xc 300 sl rims, which have been great, but the front wheel is now buckled well beyond repair (the rear is slightly out but can be trued).

So I thought - fine, just send the hubs to merlin and have them put new hubs & spokes on.... BUT FSA don't sell the rims seperately (crazy?!) and the hubs are 24 hole so won't lace up to the normal DT Swiss, mavis, stans rims?

Please someone tell me what I can do to avoid buying a new set of wheels?

Really would appreciate some advice to ease the pain of this horrible accident!!!! I dont want it to cost me £100's

Yeah know where your coming from, totally mangled my FSA rim a few weeks ago the same as your wheel. Searching for FSA 24 spoke rims is a slight pain, I believe as a once upon bike mechanic, its really poor on companies who can't provide single items, on what they sell as complete sets. As if a rim is not to much to supply as an individual item, I ' am sure they have BUNDLES of them piled up in their factory. How many Kona Dawg Deluxe's were sold in 2008, quite a lot i know that, bikes that were supplied with that same wheel. I would get on the blower and talk to FSA direct, see what they can do.

Or either that buy a pair of Mavic's Crossrides from Merlin, can't go wrong at their price. Also Mavic are excellent in after sales service. Once mangled an old Rear Crossroc back in 2004 (2001 Model wheel) the bike shop in Germany sent it back to them in France, they replaced it for peanuts, as in a whole new complete wheel. about £40. Thats what I call good service.
