I have had a trek Madone 4.7 with the stock bonty race light wheels and tyres on for nearly a year and am looking at upgrading a bit. For reference I am 6'2" 204 lbs (92kg?) this is my only bike, I dont race but I would like the whole package to go a bit faster when training

I am looking at getting a pair of Mavic Ksyrium Elite wheels from merlin cycles I had also looked at shimano rs80's

Tyres - I am not sure about, have been looking at both between conti gp 4000s & michelin krylion carbons. anything else I should consider

Tubes - I have no idea tbh. I just want some light quality tubes

Rimtape -0 does the wheel come with rimtape? If not whats a good light tape to get for it?

thanks

I'd go for the mavic wheels, i have conti gp 4000s tyres and have no complaints about them, i use schwalble inner tubes and velox rim tape

Thanks for the reply, I thought the mavics would be a safe bet

I'd certainly recommend Velox material tape. It'll be heavier than the naff plastic tape you get supplied with new wheels but I've not suffered a rim-induced puncture since lining all my wheelsets with the stuff.
