Took my 4 year old son to Toys 'r' Us for the first time, today
Fantastic entertainment... He just didn't know which way to turn, once he'd entered the store! I thought his head was going to fall off
Then he seemed to assume this air of confidence, like he knew where he was, and what he wanted, and started to fire out his wee orders, "Come on Daddy, I need to go over there (pointing in a very indirect manner), to see something I want!"
Had me in bits, laughing at him.
I bought him a DSi XL, as I had promised him one.
Having just set it up, and had a wee play with it, I think I need to go back to get one for myself

I thought it was maybe a bad idea to have taken him there today, but, maybe it was a bad idea for me to have gone there, too...

I've never been but the adverts really did make it look amazing when I was younger! Might have to pay a visit to a nearby one soon

Fifteen years+ ago, toys were basically a small amount of plastic in over ellaborate packaging. I.E. Christmas eve night the lounge was full of packages, after the opening thereof, said pressies could fit in a shoe box. Regardless of physical presence the gifts were crap.

The good news is mychildren still love me.

Took my lad to Diggerland for his 3rd birthday. Had the same reaction when we walked through the doors with all those diggers in front of him. Stood there open mouthed for at least 4-5 minutes, rooted to the spot and then when he realised he could actually go on them, I though he was going to burst. Great fun for the Dads too!!!!!

We have one in Southampton. Its a massive warehouse thats been made safe for kids, loads of stuff in there. When I was a lad they used to get in US toys other shops couldnt get here. Loved the place

Is it so wrong that places like that still make me dream of being a toy designer..? I'm 32 for crying out loud!

+1, visiting toys r us is f****** purgatory!

Fortunately kids are getting to an age where they arent so bothered about plastic toys.

Took the little fella to the cinema on Sunday, watched Nanny McPhee.
Came out after the movie and asked him what he wanted to do next...
"BIG toyshop, Daddy!" was his excited reply...
But he did accept my excuse that you're only allowed in there once a month, or the 'toy fairies' will ban you.
