Has anyone got any views on wheels built by Roadace Components. Thinking about IRD Cadence Novatec CX RAY build. What's build quality and customer service like? Thanks.

i dont know but they are all the rage from what peoples said on here. they must be ace.(the wheels that is). have you heard of wheelsmith and a man called derek residing there?
no one seems to have heard of him.

I have a similar wheelset: IRD Cadence Aero's, CX Ray spokes, to Powertap (R) & Novatec (F)... built at wheelsmith though, and very good, too.

Got IRD Cadnece Aero on Ambrosio hubs from Roadace and I am very happy. Before deciding we had a lot of discussion of the best wheels for my purposes and the advice I received was top class.

How do you find the IRD's. Are they as good as people say? Stiff? Feel fast? Look good? i weigh 78kg - strong enough do you think? I'm thinking of splashing some money on the Royce hubs as well so it will be quite an investment if i go down that route so i want to make sure they are a good buy.

    You're similar weight to me.
I think they are a great wheelset, and tick all my boxes.
Just remove the stickers when you get them, they look a little naff, but come off dead easy.

I'm nearly 85kg. The wheels are very stiff, still true despite the current crop of potholes. I like the look of the deeper seciton rims. As for hubs, I just got ones I liked the look of without spending too much cash!

there is a train of thought that says novatec hubs are the same as ambrosio zenith. both said to be good for a cheaper alternative with replaceable bearings.
