I did a great ride on my own yesterday and just wanted to tell someone
Set off from Settle and left the town up the steep hillside along the Settle Loop bridleway and down in to Malham, up to the top of Mastiles Lane and down to Kilnsey (gutted I only clocked 39.1 mph on the descent!).
Road to Arncliffe, then up what felt like the world's longest climb and on to Street Gate, back to Settle via Stockdale Lane.
Battered sausage and chips and back home.
Weather was good but the wind was against me on the last 3 climbs
48km in total and 1300m of climbing and no mud!

Nice one. It's a great area for riding. It's amazing how dry and dusty it is for this time of year!0

I did a similar ride starting and finishing in Kettlewell, except I did it as a figure-8. For such a long distance in the Dales, there is surprisingly little up and down.0

How did you put the route together? I don't suppose you've got a GPX of it I could have? Sounds interesting but I don't know the area at all...0

pm me your email address and I'll send you the gpx file.0
