saddle experience (brooks & fizik)

I've gone through lots of saddles before settling on a Brooks B17 for my commuter bike.

This looking a bit stupid on my new road bike i've looked around at the road bike Brooks models. Today someone lent me their Fizik Arione to try and i rode 40 miles without thinking about the saddle. Realy quite pleasently surprised. Was great, comfy, adjustable in placing your bum around the saddle and really nice. I don't want to give it up, and i didn't think i'd go back from a Brooks, even though i love it.

So there you go, a little experience from a saddle fiddler!

This Planet-X Superlight Team saddle is an Arione under the skin (I gather it has the same chassis), at a third of the price. I was so pleased with it I bought another one (£10 on eBay) for my commuter.


I use a Selle An-Atomica on my touring bike (like a Brooks, on steroids), very comfy

I know you said they were very comfy but they look as though they may sort of "bite" you as they flex when you sit on them. I hope they don't.

I think they might bite if you rode naked, but fortunately they are fine when clothed

If I rode naked in the UK there wouldn't be much to bite! :shock:

i have both the planet x and the arione. the planet x is now on my commuter and the arione on my better bike.

the planet x saddle is not a patch on the proper arione.
