    Better at what?

They both make the gears change at the press of a button or shift of a lever. I prefer the SRAM because the hoods are more comfortable for me and I think the breaks are much better. Rival's also lighter, if that's a consideration for you.

I've just put Rival on my bike and I'm loving it. Double-tap took me a couple of hours to get used to, but now it's second nature and I wouldn't want to use any other system.

I've had a quick play with a friend's bike with Veloce on it, and it feels OK. It'll do what you want it to do (change gear and stop you), but I didn't feel it was the same quality as Rival, especially moving to a smaller cog on the cassette. Rival is also lighter. Veloce is quite a bit cheaper though, but you can get Rival for under £450 from fudgescyclestore.com.
