Hi, looking to upgrade my Sugino chainset on my Genesis Flyer.
Hope to get something sweet and light, and most importantly, weatherproof.
Was just in Evans, and the guy suggested these;

He reckons it's quite light at 900 gms, but I'm not so sure.
Anyone use these or have any good recommendations besides?
Ta muchly...!

If you want something weatherproof, suggest you avoid external BB and particularly GXP, which IME is the worst for weatherproofness. A decent track chainset with cartridge BB should be more than sufficient e.g. MicheMake mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

"Best", "Lightest" and "Weatherproof" are probably mutually exclusive. Having said that to give you the best choice of any or all of those criteria I would suggest that looking at doubles would give you a better range to choose from. Fitting a single ring and adjusting the chainline accordingly isn't much work. If you look closely at a lot of the single ring sets on sale you'll notice that many of the are doubles with a ring missing.0
