Bikeroutetoaster question

I have two questions that I would appreciate some help with:

How do you easily, i.e. without starting a new route, plot a return route - an out and back route? Mapmyride as easy as there was an option to do this, but cant see on in toaster. I also wonder if the Garmin (Edge 205) would show the route even if rode in reverse - I guess so but the warnings would be constantly sounding perhaps; something to try out.
Secondly, what's the difference in practical terms between google and OSM settings?
Thanks

Don't try riding a route backwards on your Garmin, each time you hit a track point it thinks you've finished your ride and deletes the rest of the route. Found that one out on a 60 miler and just kept recalculating the route as I thought the Garmin was broken.

If you've got Garmin Mapsource you can open GPX files from Bikeroute toaster and invert them.

In options ride on left of road offset from the centre (say 2meters or 5 foot, it's up to you). It then lets you come back, but you have to plot the return route with different points.

    How do I modify a route ?

I find I can either click on a point on the route and drag it across to another road and it plain ignores me.

Or I can click on the route itself and drag the square across to the other road and it plots across from the original route to my new point and then back again, straight across the fields or whatever in between !

All I want to do is to get it to use one road rather than another, but I'm finding I have to Delete Last, Delete Last back to before the diversion and then replot it

I've got the same problem Andy. Can drag the route around OK before I save it but once its saved its as you describe.

One thing I have found is good is if you have a regular journey out (for me I cross Sheffield the same way to get to The Peak) I save a route only so far as the edge of Sheffield. Then when I do a new route I open this one and then save as a different name when complete. It does save a bit of time.

If you've ridden out in one direction, don't you now know the way back?
