New chain fitment - HG73?

Hi,
It may seem like a silly question, so apologies.
I've just brought a brand new chain, HG73 9 speed. It DOES NOT come with the 'snap off' connecting pin. Instead it has a normal short connecting pin in place on the open link.
Simple question - do I have to buy a connecting pin, or can I use the pin that is located in the open link of the new chain? I just assumed they would include the reinforced 'snap off' pin in the bag!
Thanks
Alan

so it is an OE one with no instructions/box.
I should have a pin or quick connect.
the "open" pin is actually for use with a mechanical riveter used in the factories and as such should not be used."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

It's an OE, yes, just in a bag, no papers or box.
So, to confirm, I should not use the pin that is on the open link with a chain tool, as it is intended for use in the factory only? It looks like the quick connect pin, without the "guide" that you would normally snap off afterwards.
What a pain, can't believe they don't ship with the link that is required for anybody with a chain tool!
