Bolted Seat Clamp?

Hey All

I want to get a bolted seat clamp as I am leaving my bike in my town more often. What would be a good one to get? I have read about various ones needing a huge amount of torque to stop the post moving and about bolts rounding.

I like the look of the KCNC one that has an allen key hole all the way through its bolt. Any experience of these?

I've got a few of the Hope bolted clamps and they are pretty good providing your seatpost is a reasonable fit to begin with. If you undo the clamp and your sp just falls down inside the seat tube, then the Hope clamp is not for you.

I doubt you will need more than 5nm of torque, think I've got mine at 3nm with the STD clamp that came with my frame. Thomson clamp is very tasty

I've got a Hope one that does the job just fine, but I do love the look of the KCNC ones with the gold anodised bolt 8)

I have an M part obe that cost me £3.Weighs bugger all and does the job nicely.

Only problem is, and this will sound like a real newbie question, what size will I need for a 30.9 seat post? I have looked on the current clamp and there is no sizing on it! Its for a Whyte 901 if that helps?

Superstar? Been quite happy with their clamp for £6.
