Hi forums,

I am going to do the cycle to work scheme and get a bike with 40% off. I need to decide what one of two bikes to get. I am after a hybrid because there are a few trails around where i live that i want to do, but not have to have to get two bikes/sets of tyres

My commute will be 8miles each way on pretty much flat ground. i think a small hill in the middle but nothing too strenuous.

First bike
Scott SUB 30 2009 Hybrid Bike

Second bike

thanks for any input

Of the two I'd be slightly inclined towards the Scott as the front suspension and disk brakes would put me off the GT. Also looking at the GT frame I imagine a rear rack, mudguards etc. would be a PITA.

As it's Evans, ask them to order both in, in your size, and take each one in turn for a test ride. This is one of the good things about Evans, they don't seem to mind too much.

Is there any reason why your choice is just limited to there two?

If riding 16 miles a day, I'd be inclined to go for a hybrid that was a bit more roady, and perhaps sacrific some of the trail use. You could always get a secondhand "mountain" bike, or a second C2W bike for the trails!

Picked these two because they were in my price range. I have to get the bike at evans for the offer to work apparantly...

    Would a bike like
