snapped spoke nipple

About a month ago I found the red nipple on my mavic 317s had snapped so I have it fixed and trimmed at my local Evans.

Anyway with having a new road bike my Scott went back on the wall for a few weeks apart from one gentle ride with the missus, about 15 miles. Today I commuted to work on the Scott because the road bike has a crack in the frame and about 14 miles in I hit a small pothole and heard another spoke go, another red mavic nipple.

Question is why are they going, was the wheel not trimmed well enough? the bike's only 8 months old, not really hammered and Mavic’s are meant to be good.

I can't imagine Evans are going to repair for free.
LOL road riding.

As long is it hasn't been abused, I would think it would be a warranty job since it is only 8 months old

haw many spokes has the wheel got?
and i am guessing the nipples are Alloy not brass.

I was told they were not covered under warranty, i couldn't be bother to fight the point at the time as i just wanted to get some trail time in before the sun set

    built by?

as i would say you are on the limit for alloy nipples on 32 spokes.

i wonder the make of spoke/nipple.
