Hello,

Will a 7800 cassette work with a 7900 drive train and gears. I assume there won;t be any appreciable difference in performance but just wanted to check on compatability.

shimao's compatibility chart says you can use any 7900 cassette except 11-28 with a 7800 rear mech

the 7800 mech doesn't like the 11-28 - I tried it last week.

  • Sungod - it's the other way round. I want to use the older model cassette (7800) with the newer 7900 components
