Thought I'd kick off the race thread.

Race has started and there are 5 riders with a 6 minute lead so far.

"The leading five (Loosli, Champion, Augé, Gourgue and Palumbo) have reached kilometre 61 while the pack remains 5kms adrift. The time gap has now reached 6’10."


In the leading group are David Loosli (Lampre-Farnese Vini), Dimitri Champion (Ag2R-La Mondiale), Benjamin Gourgue (Landbouwkredit), Stephane Auge (Cofidis, Le Credit en Ligne) and Giuseppe Palumbo (Acqua & Sapone).

    Leading five riders now 8'25" ahead. But VERY early doors.

    The lead has been reduced to 6'20" according to the feed from Team Sky.

    Should be on British Eurosport in 7 minutes or so.

    Who was the guy laying motionless on the ground? There was Roels from Milram sitting up by Popovych, but there was another Milram guy laying further up the road. Looked bad.

    Huy coming up soon, it's going to be important to be at the front this time up as even taking back 10 metres on the climb demands a big effort.
