  • Thanks for the reply quite away though
  • Halford in Norwich on London Street is meant to be quite good. The one on Barker Street is down to their usual standards.

There's also the one near Habitat (can't remember the road name!), was opened as a Cycling Republic at first, but now reverted to Halfords again.
They're quite good, very helpful, too.

Was in a bit of a rush the other day to remove a crank/cassette etc (don't have the tools) so took it in.

Did it straight away with no fuss then discussed the cheapest way to charge me.

Because it was a fixed price system it would have been £10 crank and £5 cassette. Steep but I expected that.

They got me to buy that bike plan thing. And frankly, for £18, that's a doozy for those emergencies.

They even said they'd happily fit my new groupset and set it up even though it wasn't bought there. Now I'll probably use my LBS for that, for best results, but it's nice to know that they'lll basically do anything I want for free in an emergency.

    This was Talbot Green Wales.

I thought that was helpful advise!

That's the one I was talking about, but got the road name wrong. From a map it looks like it is on Castle Street which joins London Street. I really should know these things having been in Norwich for nearly 20 years.

The staff in the shop seem quite young, but a few people I know have had work done in there and been pleased with them. Better than your usual Halfords.

  • The one in Ipswich seemed okay, although it depends which memeber of staff is on at the time. I think the senior guy there seems to be pretty good.
