doing a 70 mile sportive.....which tyres???

hey.....doing a seventy mile chari-dee sportive on the ninth and i now have a choice of tyres.....conti gatorskins or marathon plusses. Over that sort of distance, which tyres will serve me best? Any other advice of any sort ....its my first!
15 miles each way commuter (soon to be 20)

    My vote for the MP's. Reason is, i am doing the Etape Caledonia in a few weeks and last year some clown decided that the cyclists deserved thousands of tacks strewn all over the road. I will stick with the MP's I use for commutimg.... just in case!!

    It doesn't really matter so just stick with whatever is on your bike to save you time.
