okay, saddle update.....
its been about a year and i still havent found "the" saddle for me. closest so far is the selle italia flite gel flow.
BUT, its just a tad too narrow, and after long rides, it rubs me where it hurts!
other than the max flite, is there anything else similar, just wider!
i love the gel padding in the flite, the shape, the slight give.........just needs to be 140mm wide or a touch more.....
any ideas?
thanks[/quote]

if you like the shape of the flite then why not just get a Max Flite Genuine Gel or Max Flite Gel Flow as you have peace of mind that it will fit where as other saddles may be wide enough but the shape or amount of padding may not suit.Kev

BTW Some Specialized saddles are available in 155 wide too just in case you want to try one of themKev

Max flite is worth a look and is very comfortable but also recommend this which is available in three widths.

the thing that puts me off the max flite is the weight!!!
its sooo heavy!!!_______________________________________________________________________________________

I was exactly same as you steve, Flite was good, but was still getting sore/numb after a couple of hours. Got the Max Flite Gel Flow and it is brilliant for me. Cut-out has meant no more numbness, it's a bit wider and i can't remember the last time i had to think about saddle comfort, it's been that good.
Got a Max Flite Gel Flow team edition for my good bike too, doesn't look too big or bulky. It's only about 50g heavier than your Max Flite, i really don't think a saddle that is 50-150g heavier than some lightweight jobby is going to have any affect on you or your bikes performance. Well maybe on you, if it fits well =]0
