Fausto Coppi Gran Fondo

I signed up to do the Fausto Coppi Gran Fondo in Cuneo (Italy) this July. It is my first time to do a sportive in Italy. I heard that it will be a mass start. Must be interesting with 1000 riders... Has anyone done this sportive? any advice?

Never done the Fausto Coppi, but done many Granfondo events.
My first advice is if possible stay on the right side cause often you find cars on left side of the road waiting for the riders to pass.
