If i drill out my rims can i use Scraeder innertube valves rather than presta?...Would there be any disadvantage in doing this?..

You can - but will void any warranty.
Not really any advantage.0 -

For me there's no advantage/disadvantage (unless you forget to bring your pump with you)
I ran presta for at least a year but my current wheels used schraeder (otherwise I'd be using presta)0 -

I wouldn't bother unless your really set on Scraeder, they aren't anywhere near as nice to use as prest anyway and as supersonic said, you'll void the warranty0

The only advantage that Schraeder fitted tubes have is the fact you can get cheap tubes for them at most supermarkets. I do prefer Presta as I always carry a spare tube and usually use a repaired tube as my spare, Presta valved tubes easier to totally deflate so they can be folded tightly0

From my experience, schreader valves are a PITA to use. Dont know if I've just been using poor quality pumps or I'm just being cack handed. I'll stick with presta personally.http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtop ... t=12613038Cat With No Tail wrote:Anyway, fk dis, I iz off 4 a ride innit. l8rz peepz0

Presta is easier to deflate and attach a pump to. Only use schrader on my bmxs.
It's hard to spell too.0 -
Same reason I will never use Schwable tyres too.0
