Well,. the frame is here and what a beauty she is....... feels remarkably light for a steel frame and the colour is gorgeous, almost identical to the Marin 8)

Paint job is second to none, and it really feels solid.

Shall be a couple of weeks til shes built up, and Friday need to order new cranks, headset and gear cables.. oh and a hope seatclamp ;)

Here she is (her name is Babs)

and apologies for pipping Tolk to the readers rides section.

LOL - it's all can fit to it at the moment, hence my ( ) after.

Cannot believe I have misplaced my headset press, I pointblank refuse to pay the wanker at my LBS anything.. I would rather shell out £35 on another one!!!

Once that's done the buld can commence!!!

Can't wait to take it out!!! :D It just gives off that 'Fun' vibe....

When I earn enough to warrant a hardcore hardtail...it'll be a Cotic.
  • I'm not quite sold as the frame being a Hardcore HT tbh :(

Whats the head angle/BB height gonna be with a 160mm fork?

What I mean is... the specs are based on a 130mm fork.
Its sorta like a frame that can take 160mm but is built around 130 if you get me... they even say it'll take 100mm which should be horrible if the frame was based on 160mm!

  • Yeah i've seen that... mean the actual sizing geometry!
Its a lovely frame no doubt! I'm just intrigued to know how 1 head angle can cater properly for 100mm to 160mm!

There are quite a few frames with similar geo and can run different fork lengths, granted, the hadling will alter dramatically. The BFe from talking to them about it was never designed for 100mm forks although they can be run with them, but for longer (as you said 130mm upwards)

Mine is a medium, you can see straight by looking at it that its a LT frame.

Why wouldn't it? Lots of hardtails over the years have covered big ranges, it just depends what you want it to do.Pers'nally I'd sooner have a shorter fork and slacker head angle, mind.
