too good to be true?
anyone have experience of these tyres or veloflex in general?
cheers

£32 for a narrow 20mm tyre which is only available in yellow - doesn't sound like much of a bargain to me...0

Dave..........
I believe Veloflex are made by the same folks that used to make vittoria tyres in Italy before Vittoria outsourced production to the far east .
I was about to buy these Veloflex but then plumped for the vittoria open corsa evo 320TPIs . If you hurry you will get these for around £27.50 at ribble with the latest discount

Absolutley brilliant tyre ( or open Tubs as veloflex and vittoria call them ) . Okay as I said I didnt order the veloflex and went for the Vittorias but both are pitched as roughly the same .
I have used Pro Race 2s / 3s ; Continental GP3000 / 4000s / Attack Force amongst others and none come even close to how comfortable these tyres feel and how much better they roll . The difference really is quiet noticable .
Okay they wont last forever and wont be a puncture resistant as Michelin Krylions or the like but ou shouldnt be using these as training tyres anyways 0 -
softlad - PBK has other colours of tyre - black, red and blue i think. I was just giving the link to the yellow ones as they are the ones i was looking to- they match the bike.
im a sucker for the grams (or lack of) , which is why these caught my eye.Go for the break

Not the quickest at delivery ( I placed one order with them ) but not the worst either .0 -
Veloflex tyres are superb, but the rate at which they wear is worth bearing in mind. From memory, they recommend you replace them after 1500 kms.0

Most of their tubs have a wear rate of 5000km for the front and 2500km for the rear. It's worth checking their website though as their flagship tub, the Record, has a life of only 1000km for the rear0

I didnt believe 1000Kms either but

Hope my Vittorias last longer than that :shock:0 -
well im quite a light rider, so i should they'd laster longer due to that.
they'd be going on a sunday bike anyway, so not a lot of wear.
further to that, for top end tyres, does everyone use latex tubes or is there not really enough of a difference. relying on packs of vittorias from wiggle atm so im hoping to upgrade them.Go for the break

From that link:
'Indicated for time trial and track competitions.'
Hence the fast wear rate. The criterium says 3000km so that would maybe be the better option?0 -
I run Veloflex Paves on a pair of race wheels - great feel and handling, about the best tyre for fast, smooth taramc but keep them for best as they wear quick and aren't hugely durable. I wouldn't recommend any 20mm tyres though - less grip and puncture easier.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0
