hi guys, i am in need of some safety cycle glasses. I have been using cheap sunnies but they do not let enough light through and they suffer from glare and mist.
I have been looking at bolle glasses with the following lenses:
ESP
smoke
contrast
and clear.
I know there are a fair few uses on this site and was wondering if anyone could recomend what lesnse to go for I don't want anything too dark but it must remove glare and very bright light.
thanks,
fredy.

It is the ESP I use (Thanks Northwind) and they are really nice in all light conditions.
I use them in dark an dbright conditions and everything in between and have never struggled with seeing because of light conditions unless it was really dark and needed lights or a light enhancing lens (like yellow or possibly persimmon)0 -
I used the bolle ESP countours untill recently. (only stopped due to trying out the bargin lidl glasses) the ESP countours were recommended to me on here and I have recommended them to others may times. Fantastic for the price and have been used in all conditions faultlessly - only gripe I have had is they can occasionaly steam up after a long climb, but I think this is due to me getting grease on them showhow! Can be easily rectified though0

apparantly the ESP lenses aren't anti-fog like the others. Perhaps why yours were steaming up?0

Peter, yours are ESP. They seemed good for what they are but I don't seem to get on with coloured lenses with my ropey eyes
I have smoke and clear... Smoke's just dark glasses really, clear is... Um. You know. They also do a welding grade BL10 which would be awesome, you wouldn't be able to see anything but when you break your frame crashing into a tree you won't need to take off the glasses when you weld it back together. I just carry 2 pairs, I think the ESPs would be the perfect all-rounder but they messed with my depth perception, so did the yellow lenses in my old glasses so I think it's just me.Uncompromising extremist0 -
Try a pair of yellow lense out if you want something between clear and sunglasses.
I wear yellow saftey/sports lenses often for enduro motorbiking where you reglaurly change from dark or dabbled light in tight wood out on to open super bright fields at high speed. The yellow helps cut out the glare you get in bright broken/dabled light, the brightness of the open sky and somehow the yellow helps you pick out details.
Most importantly the change between light conditions seems to be helped with the yellow lenses.0 -
cheers they sound ideal!0

People may scoff at this but I've moved away from expensive glasses as always end up scratching them to shite!
Argos do some Raleigh glasses. 3 lens types (yellow for overcast, brown for sun and clear) - £10
They're all UV protected, the yellows pick out the contrast a treat and I am very happy!0
