Hi

I'm after some information on this wheelset? Can't find any reviews. Is it by any chance the predecessor to the 303 or is it something completely different?

zed or zedtech is the name given to the custom program for zipp wheels.
I'm guessing you're looking at an offer on zed 3 wheels on merlin cycles or somewhere else?

basically its a 303 with maybe custom decals or laminate layup. probably the 285v3 rim 303 and not the newest 285v4 303 rim with the wider rim and angled brake track.

Thanks for the quick reply. Is there anything to watch out for with these wheels (i.e. the older rim) or are they generally pretty good? Any reason I should be worried at 89 kg (and dropping!)?

yous so you know the merlin offer its only for the rear.

if you're planning on getting a new set of 303's then I'd go for the newer version. (nothing to do with your weight BTW, just more aero, stronger etc.)
Just be mindful to check it out that you get the newer version of the rim.
I ordered a set from a store and got sent the 285v3 rim on the 88/188 hubs being sold as the 2010 model (hence my knowledge about this...lots of research).

Sent them back and got a refund no probs, so excellent customer service anyways.
The thing was that the store had been told by the rep that these were the latest ones and they weren't, hence their mistake in labelling the goods.

If you can get a deal on a set of last years 303's, go for it.
Nothing to worry about, aero, light and strong. very old zipps have 'alledgedly' had issues with spoke pull through etc. In fairness, maybe they do and some folks have had issues, however I have a set of fairly old american classic carbon 38's which are build with pre-dimple zipp 303 rims and they've been rock solid for the past 2 years for me.
