Bianchi Sizing

I have been looking at a Bianchi C2C Nirone but would like to know peoples experiences with sizes. I know all Geo's are different and i am going to try and get to my nearest Bianchi stockist this week. I am 5'9" with about a 31" leg, would a 53 in a Bianchi be suitable.

What have the other Bianchi riders got?

Thanks in advance.

    I'm 5'10'' with a 32" inside leg, my Bianchi is a 55cm.

There were a few people talking about this around a month back.

    I'm 5'11" and 3/4 and ride a 57cm. At 5'9" i'd guess you'd need a 53 or 55.

I'm much the same dimensions too (5'9", 31 or 32" leg) and I was measuring up a Bianchi Hoc SL in a shop recently (just ogling really, I can't justify it.. ). I reckoned a 55 with an 11cm stem would be perfect, although I've got a moderately long reach.

One thing to look out for is that the Bianchis have relatively steep seat tubes compared to some bikes. This means that if you set your saddle in the same position relative to the bottom bracket, a top tube of a given effective length will result in a very slightly longer reach than on a bike with a shallower seat tube angle. This is slightly counter intuitive and it's possible to calculate in the wrong direction.. :) E.g. if your current bike has a 73 degree seat tube and 55cm effective TT, and the Bianchi size 55 has a 73.5 degree seat tube and 55cm effective TT, the reach will be just a little more on the Bianchi once the bike is set up correctly. There's probably only 5mm or so in it, but it can make the difference when you're deciding what length stem to go for.

I'm 6 foot exactly and mine is a 57cm model.

Try both a 53 and a 55cm to get the best / most comfortable fit.
  • I'm the same size as you and I have a 55 with a 110 stem. Its a perfect fit and beautifully comfortable ride. I use it on rides up to 80 miles no problem.

  • If you really want a bianchi I can heartly recommend epic cycles. I had a 5 hr round trip to get there but it was well worth every penny worth of petrol to get fitted for the bike properly and have a near perfect customer experience

    Hi all,
Well i popped into Evans in Milton Keynes today and i am a 55 for a Bianchi frame. Thanks for all the views above.

Just need to decide on what to buy now, hehe all good fun.
    Bianchi
    Orbea
    Cube

I think are the final three, all at the low end of the spectrum as 1st road bike and want to make sure i like it before fully investing.

I have ridden Orbea and Cube and liked them both, i am a 54 in the Orbea, but cant remember with the Cube. I also like the looks of these three, the allez was in the running (54 in that too) but i am not fussed on the white for the 2010 model

    We are getting closer.

    Cheers

  • You can't beat a nice bit of celeste to stand out from the red white and black crowd

Saying that I think Orbea and Cube are both great brands to. Whichever you choice you'll have a cracking bike.

How much are you looking at spending? Evans have last years mono q on sale still. I have one. Its a lovely ride. And much better looking and specced than this years version. Especially at the sale price.

They do 0% credit to

  • Well that's a great bike to start with. I started last year with a trek 1.5. I got the bug big time started to commute to work nearly everyday and have got myself up to regular 50-60 mile rides with occasional 70-80 ones. Signed up to do a london 2 paris with a load of guys from here that we're organising ourselves and am building up to 100 milers now ready for june.

Got my bianchi in the sales and love it. I honestly don't ever see me riding any other make of bike. They have something about them that trek, spesh etc... don't have imo.
