Drivetrain advice.

Hi, What Im really after finding out is which front derailleur do I need on a 2009 FSR XC Pro?
28.6 & 34.9mm Dual Pull
31.8 & 34.9mm Dual Pull
34.9 Dual Pull
I am very new to buying bits but the drivetrain in general is looking pretty shabby and I thought I would upgrade rather than replace as I have been riding a lot more than I ever thought I would be.
I already have XT shifters but everything else is standard (see here for spec http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/category/ ... o-09-33623), Im not racing it so I was thinking XT Chainset,Cassette and Front derailleur with XTR cables and Chain.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Could I do better for the money?
Any help really would be gratefully received...

Measure your seat tube, then pick the derailleur that has that diameter at the start of its name
i.e. if you have a 34.9 seat tube, go for 34.9 Dual Pull0 -
Cheers but they all say 34.9 in their name so how do I know which one to choose?0

You need to measure your seat tube first, it may not be 34.9. i fit is, then any, if not, the one that has your diameter in its name
Also make sure you have dual pull shifters, i forgot to add that in my first post :oops:0 -
Thanks Thread8 My seat tube is 34.9 so am I right in thinking they will ALL fit? Also How do I know if they are dual pull? They just say XT on them :?0

Yup they should all fit, I'd go for the last one just to be on the safe side.
Personally I don't know how you figure out if they are dual pull or not, check the manual if you have one perhaps?0 -
thanks for the advice again mate, hopefully someone will be along soon who can tell me how to check if its dual pull?0
