Ultremo DD Vs GP4000S

I've currently got the GP4000S, and thought they were pretty good.
However, after having them for 5 months or so they have lots of nicks and the last couple of rides I've got punctures by pieces of stone getting into the nicks.
I read a review in CW a while back on the Ultremo DD and the review said they were great against such problems.
Does anyone have experience of both tyres? Or the Ultremo DD?
