pink of dreams

Thought i would bring some life back into my well abused xile frame and give it a bit of a make over. I dont have any before pics, but lets just say a brand new halfords apollo was looking more bling that my frame did.
Frame was sprayed pink then little skulls were painstakingly stuck, which were then sealed with more pink paint to give an embossed finish. Mazzochi (dirt jumper of some kind, 3's maybe) forks were also sprayed white and some custom pink decors added.
Kept my front wheel from 10yrs ago (still bomb proof) mavic 525 on hope hub, mavic extreme on a deore disc hub for the rear, hope c2 on the front, hope mini on the rear, 9speed deoreLX mech and shifter, truvativ cranks/chain ring/chain device/bars, deity stem and some sexy pink premo grips. Just need to get rid of the nasty saddle for a deity saddle!!

Not to everyones taste but i thought i would see what i could do which would be different, enjoy or laugh....

Skulls look great, I won't let the missus see this otherwise she'll want one like that and I have enough of mucking about building stuff for the moment!

Pink isn't really my thing, but i'll be interested to see how that finish holds up over time. Will it stay looking fresh, or will it chip off in big skull-shaped flakes...?

should stay on pretty well, there is a thick coat of paint over the skulls, but fingers crossed!!
also as the skulls are vinyl the longer they are on the better bonded they become with the frame.

ha i hope no one knicks it!!

Nice work! Brilliant idea with the paint job, completely different to anything else you see! The embossed effect is awesome! I have a Xile frame from 2000 that I shall be building up once I've graduated. It's been powder coated in sky blue, but could do with a re-spray, and this embossing effect could be on the cards! Need to think of a design though!

give it a go, with the amount of paint on there and it sealed in they should last on their forever!! i have a friend who can supply cut vinyl you can stick on.
I had my bike primed, then sprayed pink, stickers put on, then a few more coats and then it was lacquered to seal it all.

Great job on that I must say, I had an Xile years ago too. Loved that thing, I was actually wishing I still had it a few weeks ago because it was that good.

Can't quite remember what happened to it.
